Who We are

About this site

This website is operated by Rivet-Life, LLC (“Rivet Life,” “we,” “us”). We organize Airstream weekend rallies and multi-week caravans. The site shares event information, photos, and registration forms — it is not a social network and we do not require visitors to create an account to browse or register.

This policy describes what we collect through www.rivet-life.com and how we handle it. If we change our practices, we will update this page and the effective date above.

What We collect

Information you give us

Forms Event signup

We collect personal information only when you choose to submit it:

  • Contact form (Contact) — typically your name, email address, and message. Use this for general questions, not rally registration.
  • Event registration — each rally or caravan has its own registration form on that event’s page. Fields vary by trip but commonly include name, email, phone, party size, meal choices, rig details, dietary or accessibility notes, and other information needed to plan the event. You receive a confirmation email after you submit.
  • Newsletter signup (Rally news) — your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. This list is separate from event registration.

We do not collect payment card numbers or bank details through this website. Rally fees, when applicable, are handled offline (for example by Zelle, check, or another method described on the event page or in follow-up email).

We do not currently allow public comments on the site. If we add that feature later, we will update this policy.

Auto matic

Technical information

📈 Matomo analytics 🔒 Spam protection

When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically:

  • Analytics (Matomo) — we use a self-hosted Matomo instance to understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are viewed and general traffic levels). Matomo is configured on our own server, not a third-party advertising network. We use these statistics to improve the site, not to profile you for ads.
  • Server and security logs — our hosting provider may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request time for security and troubleshooting.
  • Spam protection on forms — form submissions are screened using WPForms anti-spam tools. We plan to add Cloudflare Turnstile for additional protection; Turnstile may process technical signals to distinguish real visitors from bots.
How We use it

Why we have your information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to contact messages
  • Process rally and caravan registrations and send confirmations
  • Plan headcount, meals, venue logistics, and trip communications
  • Send optional rally news and announcements to newsletter subscribers
  • Operate, secure, and improve the website

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to marketers or data brokers.

Who Sees it

Service providers & sharing

We share information only as needed to run the site and our events:

  • WordPress hosting — the site and form data are stored on servers that host www.rivet-life.com.
  • WPForms — processes contact and registration submissions; entries are stored in our WordPress admin and email notifications are sent to Rivet Life organizers.
  • Newsletter plugin — manages the optional email list on /signup/.
  • Email delivery — confirmation and reply messages are sent through our normal email systems when you submit a form or subscribe.
  • Event planning tools — we may copy registration data to spreadsheets or similar tools to help organize a rally. If we do, access is limited to people planning that event.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our guests, staff, or the public.

Cook ies

Cookies & similar technologies

The site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Matomo may set analytics cookies to distinguish visits and measure site use. You can adjust your browser to refuse cookies; some site features may still work without them.
  • Newsletter signup may set a cookie after you subscribe so the site can recognize a completed signup.
  • WordPress sets essential cookies for site operation. Login-related cookies apply only if you sign in as a site administrator or editor — public visitors do not need an account.
  • Form spam protection (including Turnstile when enabled) may use cookies or similar tokens to verify that a submission is from a real person.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How Long

How long we keep information

  • Contact and registration records are kept as long as needed to run the event, answer follow-up questions, and maintain reasonable business records — typically for the event season and a reasonable period afterward unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Newsletter subscriptions remain until you unsubscribe or we remove inactive addresses from the list.
  • Analytics data is retained according to our Matomo configuration, generally in aggregated form.
Your Choices

What you can do

  • Newsletter — unsubscribe using the link in any email we send, or contact us and ask to be removed.
  • Registration or contact data — email us through the Contact form and tell us what you would like updated or deleted. We will honor reasonable requests unless we must keep certain records for legal, safety, or accounting reasons.
  • Browser controls — you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

This site is intended for adults planning travel events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
