Yerkes Observatory

Roll your rig toward Williams Bay, Wisconsin, where Rivet Life is planning a June 2026 gathering beside one of the world’s great astronomical landmarks. Since 1897, Yerkes has mapped the universe with the Great Refractor—63 feet of glass and steel, balanced so finely it moves by hand.

Today the observatory is open again for tours through Romanesque halls, Olmsted-designed grounds, and the story of Edwin Hubble, Carl Sagan, and generations of stargazers. Rivet Life is lining up a long weekend that pairs Airstream hospitality with science, history, and night-sky wonder on the Geneva Lake shore.

Full itinerary, parking, and registration will be posted here when details are set. Until then, explore what Yerkes offers visitors—and watch this space.
